>what's yr traffic crossing distro idea?
1. Burn up lots of copies on CD, costs about 20-25c each
2. Rubber stamp the CDs (label printing to much hard work)
3. Cut up some cardboard so that there is a spike that you can put the CDs
on (the carboard spike goes through the hole of each of the CDs)
4. Gaffer-tape the cardboard+CDs to a CBD traffic crossing, so that you can
take a CD. Tape it just above where you hit the button to make the green
man appear. You should be able to fit around 10-12 on each one.
5. Add a little sign at eye level saying 'grass roots activist media, plays
in most DVD players' or the like
Experimenting with this method, i found i could burn about 100 copies a day
on a 52x burner in the background while at work (advantage of being a
drone). And tape them up in my lunch hour.
N.b. street cleaners in the CBD are _very_ efficient you've only got about a
1.5hr window at lunch (about 12.15pm or so is good) same in the arvo, about
5pm is good. Getting that information was kinda fun. I reccomend whizzing
around at the end of lunch and taking the distro points down so they can be
reused the next day.
I distributed around 350 copies of newsreal2 over a week without too much
effort. It would be cool to do some sort of organised blanket of various
CBDs when the next one is ready.
Peace+love+respect,
Waz.
