Sorry for cross-postings. This fest is in Melbourne, Australia.
Entries welcome from all over the place but local content preferred.

Hi guys!

Well, so you think that a small short film fest in Sth Melb over summer
sounds like a good idea? Good. Coz, Steph and I are trying to organize
one. If youre at all keen in helping out a little, could you pass this
email on to as many budding filmmakers out there that you may be aware
of? :) (: Cheers guys!

In on the Filmmaker series – January 2005

Hi all,

We’re putting on a six-weekly short film screening in mid-January 2005.
The series will be called In on the Filmmaker and it will be a
competition involving prizes and great exposure for local independent
filmmakers. We’ll also be gathering together film critique types and
film org representatives to form a panel of judges so works in the
series will reach the eyes of industry. We have very open ended
submission criteria and as such film clips, animation, shorts and
anything in-between are welcome (so long as they are short in length).

We want to give you the opportunity to submit films you’ve made into
the series. At the moment we’re calling for pre-advertised submissions
so that we can get together a body of work with which to attract
funding (an arduous task at this stage in the year).

We already have a venue for In on the Filmmaker at the Railway Hotel in
South Melbourne, which hosts a great outdoor space for viewing. We have
been approaching a plethora of institutions for funding and prizes with
preliminary success and we’ve got a judge from the Australian Film
Critics Association. We have already collected some films but given the
extended nature of the series we need HEAPS of original, unpublished
and uncommissioned work to showcase.

If you are interested in submitting a film please contact Jules or I at
inonthefilmmaker at hotmail.com immediately so we can arrange a way to
obtain it from you. All films must be in DVD format and must be
accompanied by a short bio about you and your film. We’ll use this to
introduce your film should it be shown.

Also if you know anyone else who has completed work on film (not on
this email list) please, please, please forward them this email or
forward us their contact details and we’ll get onto them. Time is
really pressing so if you do wish to participate in the series we urge
you to get onto us quick!
