The advantage of this is that we have: 1. Access control - twiki pages can be locked so only certain users/groups can edit them 2. Accountability - all changes are logged with usernames 3. Revertability - we can easily revert those changes Do people think this is a good idea? If so, can someone create a page ImcOceaniaNewsrealSite or something like that and put some stuff in it ? Also, can some local techs tell us what their video feed urls are, so we can get some kind of video syndication going? - we will probably just dump all the urls in with the ngvision feed - not many vids are being uploaded at the moment. Currently, i see there are the following urls on the wiki, but none of them will work (melb/qc are not rss and stallman is no longer online): melb:http://melbourne.indymedia.org/news/xml.php?medium=video qc:http://quezon.buffaloimc.org/news/xml.php?medium=video sydney:http://stallman.indymedia.org:8080/mayday/syndication/sydney-video.xml Once some of these things are done, it would be nice to get oceania sites to put the newsreal logo that and_ did onto their sidebars. -- Bye, Pabs From brain_fear at riseup.net Thu Aug 5 22:17:09 2004 From: brain_fear at riseup.net (Gavin Norman) Date: Thu, 5 Aug 2004 15:17:09 -0700 Subject: [Oceania-tech] Melbourne Video Feed Message-ID: <1091744229.4112b1e505f32@mail.riseup.net> The Melbourne video feed has been fixed. - Gavin From pabs at cat.org.au Sat Aug 21 09:36:23 2004 From: pabs at cat.org.au (Pabs) Date: Sat, 21 Aug 2004 17:36:23 +0800 Subject: [Oceania-tech] Re: [Imc-oceania] RSS feed is broke on oceania imc In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <1093080984.5687.16.camel@localhost> On Fri, 2004-08-20 at 01:21 +0000, Warwick Boote wrote: > URL : http://oceania.indymedia.org/oceania-long.1-0.rss > It looks to me that the & isn't being escaped to a & > (Hiya Pabs if that's you) Fixed. imc_agg sux. perl sux. humans suck. If anyone wants to play with either planetplanet or wirefetch, please do so. I can even zip up all the existing templates if someone will take this on. -- Bye, Pabs -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... I'm really sick to death of imc_agg and I really don't want to continue fixing all its many many problems[1]. I would like to offload the maintainence work to either someone other than me (warwick??), or to some other program that doesn't have as many of these problems. I don't have time for migrating to something else (shayne??), but I'd suggest planetplanet[2], since it has a forgiving feed parser, and is used on a _bunch_ of foss/geek sites, and will have less bugs as a result, and the authors will be used to being hassled to fix bugs etc. Its written in python, which is easy to modify in any case. 1. I will fix the problem with nz and images once i figure out a better regex to strip initial

tags. 2. http://www.planetplanet.org -- Bye, Pabs -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
