I would like to drum up some contributions and maybe readers by sending
out an email to a list or two. What do people reckon?
I have in mind initially the Broadleft Yahoo email list, but I'm sure
there are others we can send it round.

Sydney Indymedia is going through a resurgence of activity. The Sydney
Indymedia site is interested in first hand reporting of community,
radical, or grassroots events and protests, as well as well written
original articles on issues and news of interest to social change
activists. While the primary focus is on news and analysis for Sydney
and NSW, the site is interested in well written stories from other parts
of Australia and internationally.

Please do not crosspost articles directly from the corporate media or
websites. Posting media releases from social change group websites is
okay, but even better if you can write an original news story based on
the press release.

Contributors who wish to promote or announce upcoming events in Sydney
should use the Active Sydney website: http://www.active.org.au/sydney/

Your photographs of protests, audio reports and video reports are also
welcome to be submitted, and incorporated into written stories.

Sydney Indymedia Collective may hide or delete posts or comments in
violation of the site editorial policy. Sydney Indymedia has a low
tolerance for comments which are in any way abusive of other posters or
the site.

Raising the Nuclear Power Debate - Cycling Against the Nuclear Cycle
Submitted by takver on Fri, 06/07/2007 - 17:48.

On Monday morning, 25 June 2007, nine cyclists gathered without much
fanfare in the light drizzle at Central Park in Rockhampton, Queensland,
Australia. They received a blessing from Father John Grace and with much
trepidation and excitement they road off into the thickening rain. So
started the Cycle Against the Nuclear Cycle third ride which aims to
highlight the many locations from Rockhampton to Port Augusta via
Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide, already involved or
being considered in the nuclear industry. The ride will cover over 4500
kilometres.
