I think it's a legitimate use. Once you put your image out there, it's
ripe for re-use.

I also think that Legacy don't know what they are talking about and
are using the "throw heaps of shit, see what sticks"  method - one I
find particularly appalling.

I think we would have to actually talk to a lawyer to really know, but
I call bullshit on "trade mark" infringement. In what manner could
legacy have a trademark, since they don't trade (apart from cheap
chinese knock offs)?

I think we should politely write back and say exactly what you have
said - the article is 4 years old, it's by a regular poster to our
site who has no credibility, it clearly states at the bottom both
"Opinions are those of the contributors and are not necessarily
endorsed by the Melbourne Independent Media Center." and "N(c)" and
that as the article is critical of the military, then there is a fair
argument to say it's a relevant use of the image. Thanks but no
thanks.
