Hi,

I've was involved in grass roots efforts in the past and have attended  
many protests similar to the recent g20 one in Melbourne.
Still, reading the mainstream reports on the violence almost had me  
fooled!  After reading their quotes from police, I wondered whether  
some idiots had indeed started the violence unprovoked.
My only saving grace was that I knew from past experience that there  
was a likelihood these reports were biased, and that there was  
probably an Indy media report online that could help balance my  
understanding.

Still, this experience leaves me sad because it really illustrates  
what happens in the minds of people who do not know to distrust  
corporate media.  If I almost believed the reports, what hope is there  
for people who have never heard of Indy media?

I'm just glad you guys do what you do.  I would like to see the day  
where law suits are brought against corporate media for the  
distortions they repeatedly disseminate about the nature of protest  
and dissent in our so-called democracies.
