[imc-melbourne-work] iBurst card for G20 organising

Hey there,
Some clarification: RMIT has wireless but it's not open to the public
-- this info came from Rahima. Rahima is not on this list to my
knowledge and doesn't need to be because it's an IMC organising list,
not an RMIT G20 organising list. At last week's G20 media meet-up, we
(Rahima, Anna, Tom, I, Pete) discussed asking IMC to put in for the
iBurst card, I was delegated to ask the list but didn't get around to
it until last night and Anna apparently put it to the IMC meeting the
same day. The decision at the meeting was as Harry described and I
think that's fine.
I do think (with my Indymedia hat on, not my G20 hat on) that it's
not a bad idea for Indymedia Melbourne to own an iBurst card for
future protest coverage and while it's not a financial priority
perhaps, we do (if I'm not wrong) still have a good amount of money
in the bank even with the $1000 donation to axxs.
The two spaces are to do with having an 'edit suite' for video
collection and download because some of the stuff Anna and Rahima are
doing will be too high-res to just upload without compressing and
editing first (at least, that was my understanding...)
Cheers,
phoenix
